3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal and health information solely for the following purposes:

To book and manage your appointments. To provide physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and clinical care. To communicate with you about your appointments, treatment progress, and follow-up care. To coordinate your care with other health professionals where relevant and with your consent. To comply with our legal obligations under Fiji law, including professional health registration requirements. To improve our services and website based on aggregated, anonymised usage data.

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing without your explicit consent. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

4. Health Information and Sensitive Data

Health information is among the most sensitive categories of personal data. We treat all patient clinical information with the highest level of care and confidentiality, consistent with our professional obligations as registered physiotherapists under the laws of Fiji and the standards of the Fiji Physiotherapy Association.

Your clinical records are stored securely. Access is restricted to the treating physiotherapist and authorised clinic staff directly involved in your care.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not share your personal or health information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

With your treating GP, specialist, or other health provider โ€” but only with your knowledge and where it is relevant to your care. With third-party service providers who assist in running our clinic systems โ€” such as appointment booking software or website hosting โ€” who are bound by confidentiality agreements and may not use your data for any other purpose. Where required by Fijian law or by a lawful order from a court, government authority, or regulatory body. In a medical emergency, where sharing information is necessary to protect your health or safety.

6. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Your personal and clinical information is stored securely. Digital records are protected by access controls and password-protected systems. Physical records are stored in locked filing cabinets accessible only to authorised staff.

We retain patient clinical records in accordance with Fiji's health record retention requirements. Records for adult patients are generally retained for a minimum of seven years following the last date of treatment. Records for patients who were minors at the time of treatment are retained until the patient turns 25, or for seven years from the date of last treatment โ€” whichever is longer.

If you have questions about our data retention practices, please contact us directly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you. You have the right to request that inaccurate information be corrected. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information in circumstances where we are no longer legally required to retain it. You have the right to withdraw consent for any communication that is not essential to your clinical care.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 1. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Cookies and Website Analytics

Our website uses cookies โ€” small data files placed on your device โ€” to help the site function correctly and to collect anonymous usage data through analytics tools. Cookies do not contain personally identifiable information.

You can configure your browser to refuse cookies. Note that doing so may affect the functionality of certain parts of the website.

9. Links to Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to external sites โ€” such as health information resources or social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.

10. Children's Privacy

We treat the privacy of patients who are minors with particular care. Where a patient is under 18 years of age, consent for treatment and for the collection of health information is obtained from a parent or legal guardian. Clinical records for minor patients are handled and retained in accordance with the provisions outlined in Section 6.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The most current version will always be available on this page. The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
